The content on LBo is stored in a wiki. This technology enables registered users to contribute what they know. These contributions can range from correcting typos all the way to adding new pages and sub-sections.
The following video will explain ‘wikis in plain english’:
To edit, you first need to use the Login link in the Navigation on the left and enter your username and password which you receive from registering. If you are not yet registered, click on the Register link in the Login window. Users that are logged on to the site will see an Edit link in the Navigation. By clicking that link, the page will appear in an editor. There are a few buttons at the top of the editor. For the most part, you just highlight your text and then click on the button to format it. You will then see how the wiki formatting for that style is done and the next time you may choose to just add the formatting by typing the appropriate symbol. That can be easier once you learn what the syntax is.
In order to add a new wiki-page, edit the page that will link to your new page, so that it contains the title of the new page in double square brackets: [[New Page Name]]. Save the page and there will be a link which is red when you hover over it. If it is not red, that means that there is already a page by that name and you will need to change the name you have chosen. Click on the link and you will go to the new page. It should say that there is not a page there yet, but you can create it by clicking on ‘edit’ on the left navigation. Click there and you are in the editor for your new page. You can get the feel for this by going to the playground. You can use the playground without being registered or logged in.
