Here is a collection of interesting links about Ubuntu, with a short (and sometimes not so short) comment. Although they are specific to that distribution, the information you will find in them is often general enough to apply to many Linux distributions. Especially Debian family distributions.

The link is the part 1 of a multipart story. Parts 2 and 3 have links at the bottom of the page. Part 4 and later have not been published - yet.
This is from a very long time Windows user who decided he was not going to install Vista. And he gives the reasons why. Then he goes into how easy it was to start working with Linux. His equipment dates from about 2001 and has BIOS problems that complicated his life a little more than others will have. Machines younger than 2003 should have no problems at all. But he now has a Kubuntu installation on his machine and says he does not need to boot into Windows except through his virtualization program.
It is educational if nothing else and I do recommend reading the three parts now available and come back to Part 4 when it is published if only to understand why I still preach the Linux line.
