Porting Pages

What we can do now is starting to ‘port’ the pages over to the new system. There are two ways of doing so:

1. For small and simple pages: We can redo those in DokuWiki-Markup as described here: http://beta.linuxbasics.org/wiki/syntax

2. For large or fancy pages: Get the page-source by clicking on ‘edit’ and then checking that small html-checkbox in plone. Copy & Paste the html to DokuWiki and put ... around it. Done. (These pages will probably lack the automatically generated table of contents).

2.b) If somebody has way too much time: Change the markup from html to DokuWiki.

We can add other second-(third, whatever)-level namespaces by using more colons in the URLs (e.g.: tutorials:advanced:networking:strage:tcpbypigeons found here: http://beta.linuxbasics.org/tutorials/advanced/networking/strange/tcpipbypigeons ) but we should take care that every namespace has a ‘start’ page that explains what can be found in that category and has links to all pages/namespaces within that namespace. Also, it might be wise to keep the structure as flat as possible.

While constructing this example, I also noticed that inside pages in wiki-links, we need to use colons instead of slashes. With slashes, the namespaces are messed up really bad.

Please do NOT create top-level namespaces except those on the menu: tutorials, links, security, mailinglist, irc, help, and making without first discussing it on [LBo-dev].

So, let’s have some fun,

Stefan
