I am just a regular computer user. One which at times just uses the software and doesn't really want to bother to know all the details about it, but whom at other times can read pretty dry technical Linux stuff, learn arcane and less arcane facts about its components, and enjoy it. Being curious about things in general, I am open to the different opinions on Linux and how to run it. I have no sacred cows about that. That’s part of the “free” in Linux. I am a great believer in: ‘Whatever works for you’ (within reasonable limits).
I prefer distributions which uses apt-get (Debian family). Over the years, I have installed various “flavours” of Debian, or Debian-clones (other distributions based on or derived from Debian): Woody, Sarge, Etch, Sid for 'real' Debian, and Kanotix (my personal favorite), Mepis, Libranet, Knoppix for the 'derivates'. Right now, I run Ubuntu 6.06 LTS.
