The community that helps people to run Linux

A little over three years ago, I put a disc called Ubuntu (Warty Warthog) into my CDROM drive, and my life was changed. Prior to installing Ubuntu I heard about Linux, and was always fascinated with communicating with a computer from the command line, but I never took the time to learn how to use Linux. Ubuntu made learning how to use Linux easy, by allowing me to start in graphical mode, and then slowly learn the command line.

As of this writing, I am running Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty Fawn) on my main PC, Debian 4.0 on an old PC I dug out from under the steps, Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon) on my HP work laptop, and Mint Linux on an older spare PC. As you can probably guess, I’m partial to the Debian style distributions, however, I’m open to trying new distributions; time is my only limitation.

My current projects consist of completing the LBO course, and learning apache. I somewhat maintain a tech blog called What’s New in Tech at http://troythetechguy.blogspot.com/
