Firewall

Firestarter

Previously I’ve set up a firewall using iptables and modifying a script that I either found or which was already on my system in order to get it to work. Just recently I installed Ubuntu which is Debian based. I went to their very good website to see what they use for a firewall and found that they had not yet decided on one that met all their prerequisites. One person recommended firestarter and gave the address. I looked there and decided to throw ‘firestarter’ into a search in synaptic (the package manager on Ubuntu). It turned up; so I checked it off and installed. Then I read the ‘quick tutorial’ and was up and running. If you don’t have a firewall already, you might like this easy to use type. See: http://www.fs-security.com/. The manual with the quick tutorial is at http://www.fs-security.com/docs.php#docsdownloadAnita Lewis 2005/06/19 22:02
