This page is beginning with a simple addition to Xine in order to watch .wmv movie files. Much more could be added here, but Xine pretty much works out of the box. Mplayer homepage was the source for the files needed to allow Xine to read these movie files; so I assume that Mplayer will read them as well. (Some say better!) — Anita Lewis 2006/03/28 01:15

How to get Xine to play .wmv movie files
- Download “essential codecs package” from http://www.mplayerhq.hu/homepage/design7/dload.html
- See if you have /usr/lib/win32 If not, create it.
- Uncompress the tar.bz2 file which you downloaded. Move the files to /usr/lib/win32.
- You should now be able to play an .wmv movie file on Xine.
