Suse and CUPS

Sometimes, when there is a printer-error, Suse does not restart the printer-queue for that printer. It can be done using YaST2, by erasing the queue and redefining it. But that is not the best solution.

You could also go to the CUPS-webinterface and restart the printer. But that insists on a password, which (in Suse) you do not know.

You can add yourself as a CUPS-admin using the command

lppasswd -a username

or by changing the configuration as described at the CUPS-FAQ
